If you have any questions and cannot find the answer here, you can always contact us by email info@hemmakoti.com, by submitting a contact request via the chat feature or by calling us at +358 (0)29 1700775 (Mon–Fri from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

HemmaKoti.com is a new online service that connects service providers and households. Any 18-year-old with professional skills and/or knowledge of one or more of the following categories can register as a service provider. The service provider operates as an independent entrepreneur. You can be a light entrepreneur or own a business name or even a larger company. With our service, customers can find you!

At first, the service provider signs up for the HemmaKoti online service and establishes a profile. Personal data, a photo and the services offered, their prices and availability offered are added to the service. When the service is ordered from you, you will receive a message via the chat feature. You can ask for more information about the job and talk to the customer via the chat feature. The HemmaKoti online service will handle the charges, any cancellations and fees on your behalf. Pendola Oy, the company operating the HemmaKoti web service, is a Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority-licensed payment intermediary.

You do not need to have a Business ID of your own. The company that owns the HemmaKoti online service is included in the prepayment register and has its own Business ID. The charges will be forwarded to you through us. You’re a light entrepreneur, just like an entrepreneur. You price the services and freely decide when you work. You also have full freedom to choose whether to accept the ordered assignments. No employment relationship in accordance with the Employment Contracts Act is formed between the light entrepreneur and the company providing the HemmaKoti™ service.

You can have your own company and Business ID. You will receive trade income for the work done, from which we will withhold tax. You can also have more than one employee and a larger company. When trade income is not an option, we pay compensation for the work done to the company’s account using self-billing. Again, you do not need to spend time on invoicing. You can contact our customer service by e-mail info@hemmakoti.com. You can also leave a contact request via the site chat or call us on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at +358 (0)29 1700775.

The remuneration is paid automatically once a week. You can track completed and paid work orders in real time by logging in to your profile. The payout date is each Thursday, and the remuneration will appear on your account the next business day. You don’t need to order the remuneration separately. You can also choose to accrue fees. You can easily change this in your profile by changing the payment interval. You will receive a fee statement through your online bank.

With us, you don’t have to look for customers, the customers will find you. You should create your own profile carefully, without forgetting the profile photo. Here, too, a picture is worth a thousand words. The better you complete your profile, the easier it will be for customers to find you.

We have defined service categories that also make it easier to recognise your own expertise and get started quickly!  We would be happy to hear from you if you would like us to add new service categories.

  2. Log in and select “Become a service provider”.

Our HemmaKoti™ service providers are always insured against liability during their assignments. Accidents can happen to any one of us at work, and liability insurance will compensate for material damage in such situations.

We also recommend that you check out accident insurance (Fennia +358 (0)10 503 8808 or online), which is a compulsory insurance policy for service providers. Insurance is arranged in cooperation with Fennia Mutual Insurance Company. You can also take out insurance from another insurance company licensed in the EU.

You might also need YEL insurance. Light entrepreneurs are classified as entrepreneurs, which makes you responsible for arranging your own pension insurance through YEL insurance if the conditions are met.

We will be happy to help you! You can contact our customer service by e-mail info@hemmakoti.com, by submitting a contact request via the site chat feature or by calling us on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at +358 (0)29 1700775.

When you work as a HemmaKoti™ service provider, you are an entrepreneur from the point of view of unemployment benefit. The General unemployment fund YTK maintains the unemployment security guideline for the self-employed, from which you can obtain more information, if necessary.

Part-time entrepreneurship is not an obstacle to the payment of unemployment benefits. The estimate of whether you are a part-time entrepreneur is made by the TE Employment Service. In this case, adjusted unemployment benefit can be paid, i.e. the income from business activities is taken into account in the amount. We recommend that you always be in touch with the local TE Office, where the situation can be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

From the point of view of the tax authority, a HemmaKoti™ service provider, i.e. the light entrepreneur, is an employee who is paid a salary. Legally, the service provider is not in an employment relationship with Pendola Oy, the company providing the HemmaKoti™ online service.
